The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Kalamazoo College invites applications for a one-year appointment as a Visiting Assistant Professor with a focus on Biochemistry.  The position will begin September 2021. The Department will be doing a tenure-track search for a Biochemistry faculty position in Fall 2021. A Ph.D. in Biochemistry or Chemistry, or the equivalent is required (or evidence of imminent completion). Prior teaching experience is desirable, with candidates demonstrating an interest in undergraduate teaching.  Candidates who have experience with programs and pedagogical approaches that are especially effective in attracting and retaining women and students who are typically underrepresented in the discipline are especially encouraged to apply.  Kalamazoo College has made a commitment to inclusive excellence.  The successful applicant will demonstrate a strong commitment to working with students, faculty, and staff from diverse social, cultural, and economic backgrounds.  The Department seeks to mentor visiting faculty to prepare them for a future tenure track position at a liberal arts college.
