Job Details

The Department of Chemical and Physical Sciences at Cedar Crest College invites applications for a one-year faculty position at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor to begin August 2021. We are looking for candidates who share the Department’s deep enthusiasm for student success in the natural sciences. The successful candidate will be committed to educating a diversity of learners, including women, students of color, and others underrepresented in the chemical and physical sciences, other natural sciences, nursing, allied health, and other fields in which we educate students. Teaching responsibilities include analytical or physical chemistry (including laboratory sections) and other introductory courses in the candidate's area of expertise. Teaching load for the academic year is twenty-four teaching credits (generally, eight courses for the academic year or four per semester). A Ph.D. or ABD in chemistry is required (physical chemistry or analytical chemistry is preferred). Supervision of undergraduate research is welcomed.

Applicants for faculty positions should submit a letter of interest, a curriculum vitae, a statement of teaching philosophy, three letters of reference, and a diversity statement that describes planned contributions to diversity, equity and inclusion. We seek to recruit faculty who are prepared to teach our students, to engage their curiosity, and to inspire their persistence.
