TIFR has a unique collaboration-friendly research environment that places scientists of all disciplines under one roof. The institute has served as the cradle of fundamental science in modern India and has a rich history of achievements in both fundamental and applied research at the scientific frontiers.

The Department of Chemical Sciences at TIFR (https://www.tifr.res.in/~dcs/) invites outstanding candidates for tenure-track faculty positions in chemistry. TIFR will be the appropriate abode for those seeking a progressive, supportive, non-hierarchical, and internationally competitive research environment. Exceptional candidates in any area of chemistry will be considered however, there will be a preference for the following research areas:

Applicants with a strong academic profile (Ph.D. plus a few years of post-doctoral experience is required), a good publication record, and an inclination towards collaborative/interdisciplinary research are encouraged to apply. Successful candidates will be expected to implement a clearly defined research plan (as outlined in a detailed research proposal) and establish independent research groups. They will have access to an internationally competitive start-up package, continuing intramural support, and graduate students from one of India’s finest Ph.D. programs.

Interested individuals should send the following documents (in one combined file in the PDF format): cover letter, curriculum vitae, list of referees, detailed research proposal (5-6 pages), and copies of three selected publications.
