The Department of Chemistry at the University of South Florida invites applications for a 12-month appointed NMR Facility Director -  Research Assistant Professor position (non-tenure track) to begin Fall 2021.  The Department of Chemistry is recruiting an individual who demonstrates a commitment to helping oversee our high-field nuclear magnetic resonance core laboratory (NMR Core). Specifically, the person we seek will provide support for both users and instrumentation in the Chemistry Department NMR Core Laboratories to include instrument maintenance, troubleshooting and repair. The director will be responsible for user and technician training, assisting in the planning and conduct of research protocols, sample preparation, collecting and analyzing data, troubleshooting and maintenance of facility equipment, billing and account management and oversight of facility staff.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education and Experience):
Minimum Qualifications: Doctoral degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant Professor.


Preferred Qualifications: The preferred candidate will have three to five years of experience in managing a facility involved in the investigation of the structure of large and small biomolecules and/or synthetic libraries. Preferred candidates will also have experience with operation and maintenance of facility equipment, including hardware and software, pulse sequence programming and automation of NMR data collection. Candidates with additional experience in the analysis of structure and dynamics of biological macromolecules and their complexes are encouraged to apply
