The Opportunity

The Faculty of Engineering is one of the largest in Australia, renowned worldwide for the quality and calibre of our teaching, research and graduates. Our research activities provide a platform for establishing a thriving educational enterprise and our staff are committed to creating a dynamic learning environment.

In the Department of Chemical Engineering we see potential in everything.  We thrive in that pivotal space where engineering, chemistry, physics and mathematics intersect.  Ranked number 1 in Australia, we are now searching in all areas of chemical engineering with a particular interest in Particle Technology, Process Controls, Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning to teach into core units, and further our cross-disciplinary research agenda.

Within this position, you will play a key role in research projects, and support activities to enable us to maximise opportunities arising from the Robotics Precinct and/or the Smart Manufacturing Precinct, as well as cultivate and guide student incubator projects, student teams and/or our new Student Pilot Plant.

We are on the hunt for a passionate and determined candidate with a doctoral qualification in chemical engineering or related discipline, with the ability to work both independently and in a team. If this sounds like you, we look forward to receiving your application!

This role is a full-time position; however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.

At Monash University, we are committed to being a Child Safe organisation. This position at the University will require the incumbent to hold a valid Working with Children Check.

As part of your application, please ensure to identify your suitability to the position, by including an outline (maximum of 4 pages) of your future research plans and teaching philosophies and indicating the level of role you are applying for (Level B, C or D).
