TENURE TRACK FACULTY POSITION in Chemistry. The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse (UWL) http://www.uwlax.edu/Chemistry-and-Biochemistry/ anticipates hiring a dynamic teacher-scholar at the Assistant Professor level to join its top-rated program in August, 2022. The department strives to maintain an inclusive and collegial working and learning environment for our faculty, staff, and students, and we welcome applicants who share our commitment to these values. Our new colleague will teach lecture and laboratory courses in our core curriculum, such as General, Physical, and/or Organic Chemistry, along with advanced elective courses in their areas of expertise. We seek a scholar to develop and maintain an active, externally-funded research program involving undergraduates. Research expertise in an experimental field is preferred. The area of research could be within traditional subdisciplines of chemistry or a variety of related interdisciplinary areas (examples include, but are not limited to, agricultural/food, materials/polymer, nuclear, nano, green/environmental, or medicinal chemistry/pharmacology). Our department and college maintain a large array of modern instrumentation resources, and include research and teaching laboratories in a new state-of-the-art Prairie Springs Science Center.
Required Qualifications: A Ph.D. degree in chemistry or related discipline at the time of application, demonstrated excellence in oral and written communication, and a commitment to excellence in teaching and scholarship at the undergraduate level are required.
Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated post-secondary teaching experience including evidence of commitment to creating diverse and inclusive learning experiences is preferred. Preference will be given to candidates with post-doctoral research experience and those whose professional expertise complements that of the existing faculty.
