The Chemistry Department at the University of Rhode Island (URI) invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the area of Inorganic Chemistry, broadly-defined, beginning in the fall of 2022.  Among other qualifications, applicants must have a Ph.D. in chemistry or closely related field, postdoctoral (or equivalent) experience, and a demonstrated record of scholarly achievement.  For full list of qualifications, please see the full posting at jobs.uri.edu.

The successful candidate will teach chemistry courses at both the undergraduate and graduate level; advise students at both the undergraduate and graduate level; conduct research in collaboration with both undergraduate and graduate students; serve on departmental and university level committees.

The Chemistry Department offers programs leading to BS, BA, MS and PhD degrees.  The Chemistry Department moved into a new facility in 2016.  The Beaupre Center (URI Chemistry Building) is a 135,000 square foot facility for teaching and research.  This excellent environment for research collaborations houses extensive new instrumentation in a shared user facility; researchers in the Chemistry Department have no-cost access to high field NMR, GC-MS, FTIR, HPLC, fluorimetry and LC-MS in addition to materials characterization instrumentation.  For more information about the Department of Chemistry, please visit our website.
