Drexel University invites applications for an Associate Professor with tenure in Chemical Biology or Biochemistry. The successful candidate will have already established a vigorous and well-funded research program that focusses on exploring and/or engineering complex biological systems. She/he will continue and expand her/his vigorous, externally-funded interdisciplinary research program at Drexel. We expect her/him to seek collaborations with research groups across the university. With her/his teaching and research the candidate will initiate the development of a curriculum in Chemical Biology or Biochemistry. She/he will oversee this development which will have a major influence on the future direction the department will take with respect to life-science/bio-oriented research. Regarding teaching, the candidate will be in charge of undergraduate major and graduate courses in chemical biology and/or biochemistry. We expect a strong commitment to teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels, and an equally strong readiness and capability to mentor undergraduate, Masters, and PhD students as well as junior faculty hired subsequently in this area.
