Job Details

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Utah State University (USU) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level. This is a nine–month (academic year) position, located on the main Logan campus, and will start in August 2022. Applicants should have a PhD in chemistry or a closely related field with a graduate or post-doctoral background in experimental physical chemistry, chemical physics or a closely related field. Primary teaching responsibilities will be in physical chemistry at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The successful candidate will be expected to develop an innovative, externally funded research program with a national reputation for excellence. While the research area is flexible, preference will be given to qualified candidates proposing research programs (which will have a significant physical chemistry or chemical physics component) in the following areas:  photochemistry; materials or device development, including synthesis; and/or sustainable-energy research. Applicants whose proposed research area and experience complement existing research programs in the Department are particularly encouraged to apply as are applicants from groups underrepresented in the physical sciences. For more detailed information and to apply please visit the USU Jobs site: https://hr.usu.edu/jobs/ (Ref. 2021-3715) or Apply Here. Completed applications will be reviewed starting October 1, 2021 and will continue until the position is filled.
