The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at Texas Tech University invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. One position is open to all areas of Biochemistry, Biophysics and Structural Biology. Research that applies cryo-electron microscopy and/or native mass spectrometry in the study of systems involved in immunology or cancer biology is of special interest. The second position is in the area of Synthetic Organic Chemistry, broadly defined. Research interest for this position could include bioorganic/medicinal, synthesis/catalysis, polymer/soft matter, and materials chemistry. Both positions could also benefit from the existing theoretical/computational expertise within the department. For both positions, a Ph.D. in chemistry or a related field and postdoctoral experience are required. The successful candidate is expected to develop an independent, well-funded research program and have a commitment to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Candidates who have very strong records of scholarship supported by extramural funding and who have the proven capacity or clear potential to bring externally sponsored research to Texas Tech University are encouraged to apply. Experience working with diverse student populations and first-generation students is highly desirable. Service duties include program-building, as well as commitment to extra-curricular activities. Service to the department, college, and university is expected.
