Job Details

Reed College invites applications for a tenure-track position in chemistry to start in August 2022.  The successful applicant will be expected to teach one semester in either the general chemistry or the introductory organic sequences as well as one semester in either analytical chemistry or statistical thermodynamics. A Ph.D. is required; postdoctoral experience is preferred but not required. The successful candidate will develop and maintain an active research program and advise senior thesis students in year-long research projects. The chemistry department occupies a dedicated building with individual faculty research labs, and has excellent resources for innovative teaching and research, including a research nuclear reactor, a 400 MHz NMR, single crystal and X-ray powder diffractometers, GC-MS, LC-MS, ICP-MS, a Gamry Instruments potentiostat, and access to on-site and external computing resources.
