Overview

We are looking for a Lead Researcher to join the lab of Dr. Downing. The selected person will focus on role of germline and somatic mutations in Core Binding Factor acute myeloid leukemia (CBF-AML) with an t(8;21) translocation. As a Lead Researcher you will have the opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking research and explore the underlying molecular mechanism of one of the more common variants of human acute myeloid leukemia.

 

Candidates must possess a good understanding and experience in molecular biology and biochemistry. Demonstrate advanced skills in designing experiments and knowledge in a substantive area of science or technology. Develop new experimental procedures and publish research results. Participate in the presentation/publication of research results. Keep comprehensive accurate organized and legible records of experimental procedures and results. Assist in data analysis and reduction. Write research reports and/or portions of scientific publications as requested.  Experience in, RNA, DNA and protein manipulation, immunofluorescence, cell culture, retroviral/lentiviral transduction, murine genetics, CRISPR technology, ChIP-seq, CLIP-Seq and next generation sequencing procedures preferred. A publication list of manuscripts indicative of a consistent high level of productivity and examples of the capacity for scientific communication at a professional level is desirable. 

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant scientific area is required

Minimum Experience

  • Five (5) years of relevant, post-degree work experience is required with a Bachelor's degree.
  • Two (2) years of relevant post-degree work experience is required with a Master's degree.
  • No experience is required with a PhD.
