The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Notre Dame seeks applicants for a full-time teaching faculty position with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2022. This position is a long-term renewable appointment. Preference will be given to candidates having a Ph.D. in chemistry or biochemistry and an independent track record of teaching and working with teaching assistants at the college/university level. Demonstrated teaching excellence (i.e., prior teaching experience and use of evidence-based practices) is expected. We seek candidates who have experience in educating students from a variety of backgrounds for success in STEM. Successful candidates will be expected to assume leadership roles in the department’s undergraduate program, which is nationally recognized for teaching excellence.

Responsibilities will be primarily in undergraduate organic chemistry lecture courses and will include teaching and coordination of multiple sections. This faculty position will carry the title of Assistant, Associate, or Full Teaching Professor depending upon extent of prior experience. Candidates should upload a cover letter, a curriculum vitae, a two to four page portfolio documenting the range and depth of your contributions to developing, teaching, and coordinating large lecture or lab courses in chemistry and your other scholarly activities related to undergraduate teaching, and three letters of recommendation to apply.interfolio.com/93026.  The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry has several ongoing initiatives to support students from underrepresented and underserved backgrounds. We ask interested candidates to submit a statement of how they would contribute to the department's efforts to support all of our students and contribute to Notre Dame’s efforts to enhance diversity.   Applications will be reviewed beginning October 15, 2021, until the position is filled. We strongly encourage applications from female and minority candidates, applicants from diverse socio-economic backgrounds, and others that will enhance our community.
