Description: The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry in the College of Arts and Sciences at The Ohio State University seeks to fill two tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant Professor level in the general area of biochemistry. This search is open to candidates with expertise in all areas of biochemistry, including structural, chemical and molecular biology. The new faculty members will join an interdisciplinary community on the main campus in Columbus, Ohio. Our partners - Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute, Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Center for Electron Microscopy and Analysis (CEMAS), and the Ohio Supercomputer Center - offer limitless opportunities for collaboration and advancement of research programs. In particular, CEMAS houses a F20, 200 keV Glacios microscope with falcon detector and autoloader and a 300 keV Titan Krios with K3 detector and energy filter. Departmental faculty also have access to state-of-the-art on-campus facilities for genomics, mass spectrometry, NMR spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction.

Qualifications: A Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry or a related field is required. The positions will begin Autumn 2022. Demonstrated excellence in innovative research and a strong commitment to teaching are essential. Outstanding applicants in all areas of biochemistry will be considered but priority will be given to those candidates whose research interests complement those of existing faculty. As a campus with a diverse student body, we encourage applications from women and other underrepresented minority groups. Appointment is contingent on the university’s verification of credentials and other information required by law and/or university policies, including but not limited to a criminal background check.
