The Department of Chemistry and Physics at Birmingham-Southern College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in the area of Physical Chemistry at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin August 2022. The annual teaching load is three classes and/or labs per term and one intensive course during our January mini-term. Teaching responsibilities could include Physical Chemistry I and II with laboratory, as well as first-year Chemistry courses or laboratories. The successful teacher/scholar will have a robust research agenda that is accessible to undergraduates, avid interest in pedagogical development, and a desire to be an active and engaged citizen of the Birmingham-Southern community as well as a contributing and collegial member of the Chemistry and Physics Department. Candidates must have received a Ph.D. in Chemistry or a closely related field by the time of employment.

Birmingham-Southern College (BSC) is a selective residential liberal arts college with an ACS approved program in chemistry. The College enrolls approximately 1200 undergraduate students and is a sheltering institution of Phi Beta Kappa.
