Position Summary:

The successful candidate will join a dynamic team of chemists and engineers to develop creative continuous flow chemistry solutions to our client’s synthesis and manufacturing problems. The main duties include:

  1. Serve as the expert in reaction engineering, including understanding the reaction kinetic and fluid dynamic
  2. Work with the team to design continuous flow reactor suitable for the process chemistry need
  3. Devising reactor systems, including recommend materials and components, build and test / validate reactors
  4. Reaction analysis using common laboratory analytical techniques (i.e. HPLC, GC, MS…)
  5. Perform troubleshooting and maintenance of flow reactors and related instruments / components
  6. Keeping up with engineering literature  

Education and Experience:

PhD in chemical engineering with 0-2 years of experiences or BS/MS in chemical engineering with 3-5 years of working experience

Skills:

  • Demonstrate knowledge in reaction engineering, including reaction kinetics, axial dispersion, residence time distribution.
  • Experience in flow chemistry technologies, including reactor design (PFRs and CSTRs) is preferred. 
  • Works well in a diverse and cross-functional team

Language Ability:

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, co-workers, and clients. Write scientific reports and synthesis procedures in order to enable other researchers. Effective presentation of information and responses to questions from managers, co-workers, and clients. 

Math Ability:

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.  Ability to calculate charges for reactions.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

Ability to solve problems and analyze data without supervision

Computer Skills:

LabVIEW, MATLAB, Design-Expert, and general Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint…).
