The Research Engineer/Glassblower will build and/or repair a variety of custom scientific glassware and electronic equipment. A willingness to learn basic electronics and vacuum pump repair and apply these skills in support of the chemistry research and teaching missions of the department is also required. The position requires direct interactions with academic faculty, staff, and graduate students in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. Additional duties include communicating with vendors and technical support for instrument and glassware repair.

Bachelor’s degree in a science or engineering field, plus two years of experience in supporting academic, teaching, or research systems and equipment.

OR

Master's degree in a science or engineering field, plus 3 months of experience in supporting academic, teaching, or research systems and equipment.
