Research Support Specialist
Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):
Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Research activity experience. Experience in operating equipment, carrying out test procedures and using special methods for data collection and interpretation.
Advanced degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in Chemistry. One (1) year of full-time experience in Organic Chemistry. Experience in chemical synthesis of small molecules. Experience in characterization of small molecules using NMR spectroscopy. Experience with HPLC, micro-scale reactions or radiochemistry.
Brief Description of Duties:
Within defined test or analytical protocols, operate equipment, carry out test procedures, as well as collate and interpret data using special methods in support of a research project or program in the Department of Radiology. The research support specialist will be involved with chemical synthesis of small molecules, characterization of small molecules using NMR spectroscopy and working with HPLC, micro-scale reactions and radiochemistry. Training will be provided to the Research Support Specialist regarding the skills previously referenced. This work includes working and handling of radioactive materials.
