The Frank R. Seaver College of Science and Engineering at Loyola Marymount University invites applicants for a tenure-track position as Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry to begin Fall 2022. Candidates with strong evidence of Inorganic, Materials, and/or Physical Chemistry training who are capable of conducting multi-disciplinary research with undergraduate research students are highly desired.

Applicants must hold a doctoral degree in chemistry or closely related field with the degree conferred no later than the position start date of August 15, 2022. The successful candidate is expected to teach Physical and/or Inorganic chemistry lecture and laboratory courses, upper divisional electives within the candidate’s area of expertise, and any other courses to fill departmental needs.  Applicants should be able to teach to a diverse student body. In addition to excellent teaching, the successful candidate is expected to establish an active research program that will include undergraduate students, exposing them to current research techniques.
