The School of Science, Engineering and Health at Messiah University invites applications for a full-time, term-tenure faculty position in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry.  Rank is open and will be determined based on qualifications.

Responsibilities: The required teaching responsibilities for this position will be in general and physical chemistry, with additional expertise or willingness to teach environmental chemistry desired.  All courses include both lecture and laboratory components.  A strong commitment to scholarship through the mentoring of undergraduate student research is also required.

Qualifications: Ph.D. in physical chemistry preferred.  Candidates must possess the potential for strong classroom teaching, laboratory teaching, and positive student interactions.

The Program: Messiah University’s Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry is approved by the American Chemical Society, and offers B.A. and B.S. Degrees in Chemistry and Biochemistry, as well as a B.A. in Chemistry with Secondary Teaching Certification.  The program has excellent instrumentation and laboratory facilities for both classroom instruction and mentored research.

The Department: The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry is committed to academic excellence, within a context of Christian faith. There are currently 6 full-time faculty in the department, as well as a full-time laboratory manager. The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry is one of six departments within the School of Science, Engineering and Health.
