The Chemistry and Biochemistry Department of Nazareth College of Rochester, New York, invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin August 2022. The department seeks candidates committed to inclusive excellence in undergraduate education at a comprehensive institution that supports both liberal arts curricula and professional programs. The successful candidate will join a department with a strong history of collegiality and mentoring of pre-tenure faculty. Responsibilities include teaching 3-4 courses per semester, advising, engagement with the college and professional community, and scholarly activity as envisioned with the Boyer Model of Scholarship. Candidates will engage in developing a strong research program with collaborative involvement of students. Opportunities for summer research and interprofessional collaborations are available.

The Nazareth College Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry is located in Peckham Hall, a 74,000 square foot facility for integrated math and science that was recently ranked 20th for Best Science Lab Facilities by the Princeton Review. Peckham Hall features state-of-the-art laboratories and facilities in addition to various updated instrumentation available for both research and teaching usage. The successful candidate is expected to teach biochemistry and general chemistry. Primary teaching responsibilities include contributions to the first-year chemistry program, Biochemistry I, Biochemistry II, Biochemistry Lab, and upper-level courses including electives in their area of expertise, and courses in the college core curriculum.
