ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR OF MEDICINAL CHEMISTRY

The Department of Drug Discovery and Biomedical Sciences at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) invites applications for a tenure track faculty position at the Associate Professor level. Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in medicinal or bioorganic chemistry, chemical biology or a related discipline, as well as relevant postdoctoral experience. The successful applicant is expected to maintain a vigorous, externally funded research program, and to participate in professional and graduate education. Candidates with a history of extramural funding will receive priority consideration. The position includes excellent compensation, a competitive start-up package and comprehensive benefits. MUSC is a research-intensive university with more than $250 million in external funding. The MUSC campus provides an outstanding environment for collaboration and is home to the NCI-designated Hollings Cancer Center. The Department is home to a number of shared resource centers, including Drug Discovery, NMR, Bioenergetics, and Molecular and Cell Imaging. The Drug Discovery Core curates a 100,000-compound proprietary library, and offers virtual, high-throughput and high-content screening services. Additional resources at MUSC include high-resolution imaging, flow cytometry, genomics, mass spectroscopy and proteomics, bioengineering and structural biology.
