You must be highly self-motivated, always professional, and able to prioritize your workload in a fast-paced, start-up environment.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead projects efficiently from initiation through completion, with a high standard and careful attention to detail.
  • Help build laboratory capabilities, particularly as related to neuronal cultures and assays within an incubator environment.
  • Manage, coordinate, and be the primary liaison for, multiple interdisciplinary research studies with select contract research organizations (CROs) and external collaborators.
  • Maintain primary responsibility for the scientific design, logistics/administrative aspects, data analysis, and figure preparation of key in vitro and in vivo studies to evaluate mechanistic efficacy of novel small molecule therapeutics.
  • Maintain accountability for timeline management and deadlines.
  • Communicate progress effectively to team members in a cross-disciplinary environment and gather scientific input from key stakeholders.
  • Contribute new ideas to the company’s programs by applying regular literature survey with critical analysis skills to solve specific research problems and summarize key issues.
  • Actively facilitate a focused, team-oriented atmosphere by providing assistance and/or guidance to colleagues when needed.
  • Support senior leadership and other team members in preparing presentation materials.
  • Maintain high standards of research integrity and rigor.

Professional qualifications include:

  • Masters Degree in chemistry, or a related field.
  • 7 to 10 plus years of demonstrated knowledge in organic chemistry, particularly medicinal or natural project.
  • chemistry domains.
  • Excellent knowledge of modern chemical separation and purification technologies.
  • Strong organic chemistry analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate new techniques, troubleshoot multi-step chemical syntheses, and independently design, analyze and interpret experimental data to recommend next steps.
  • Attention to detail and proven track record in handling, analyzing, plotting and recording experimental data.
  • Able to participate productively in discussions with colleagues at all levels and across disciplines.
  • Flexibility to rapidly adapt to changing project priorities and conduct multiple project tasks efficiently.

If you’re a flexible powerhouse and are curious about science, this is an excellent opportunity to join a company that’s growing fast and making a difference.  You must be:

  • Highly organized, with excellent judgment as well as strong project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to step into an unstructured world and provide that structure effectively.
  • An amazing multi-tasker with laser focus, highly intuitive, and able to anticipate the executive’s needs.
  • Able to see the big picture clearly and understand the long-term goals of the business.
  • Friendly and professional in demeanor, with exceptional interpersonal skills and a great sense of humor.
  • Excited about change as an invitation to stretch and grow.
  • Able to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Able to thrive in a dynamic work environment where policies and procedures are still taking shape.
  • Someone who enjoys opportunities to pitch in and help when necessary, even if it means shuffling your own priorities on the fly (again) and stepping outside your job description.
