The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at St. Mary’s University is inviting applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor of Organic Chemistry.  The position is expected to begin August 2022.  A Ph.D. in a relevant field or completion of such prior to employment and prior teaching experience are required.  Primary teaching responsibilities include Organic Chemistry lecture and laboratory, but the candidate may also participate in General Chemistry and Advanced Chemistry courses in the applicant’s area of expertise.  The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to innovative undergraduate teaching and research, including seeking external funding.  The successful candidate will participate in Department and University committees and meetings, advise undergraduate majors, and take part in service activities outside the Department.  The Department is committed to providing a diverse, equitable, and inclusive learning environment.
