The Department of Chemistry in the College of Arts and Sciences at Georgia State University (GSU) seeks exceptional candidates for up to two tenure-track Assistant Professor positions.

The Department of Chemistry is a fast-growing program where students and faculty contribute to cutting-edge, externally funded research at the interface of chemistry and bio/medical science. Essential qualifications: A Ph.D. degree in Analytical Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field and post-doctoral experience are required. Outstanding research accomplishments, the ability to establish an independent research program with major extramural funding, an unwavering dedication towards excellence in teaching, and a demonstrated commitment to working with diverse student and faculty populations, are the main evaluation criteria.

Preferred qualifications: Candidates in analytical and in the broadly defined fields of experimental biophysics or biochemistry, including but not limited to research areas such as chemical imaging, spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, electrochemistry with biomedical interests that push beyond current experimental limits, will best align with department growth.
