Postdoctoral Researcher - Biomimetic Assembly

Syracuse University Chemistry department has a postdoctoral opening in the laboratory of Professor Davoud Mozhdehi (Chemistry) and Prof. Shikha Nangia (Biomedical and Chemical Engineering). This cross-disciplinary project is at the interface of chemistry, biology, and materials science. The research focuses on the predictive synthesis of recombinant nanobiomaterials for various biomedical applications. Experience with the characterization of protein and polymer assemblies using light- and X-ray scattering is desirable. This cross-disciplinary team is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion in higher education and seeks candidates that will actively contribute to this mission.

The candidate is expected to conduct experiments and simulations, coordinate purchasing and requisitions, supervise and train graduate/undergraduate students, prepare reports/papers, participate in proposal writing, and fulfill other duties as deemed appropriate.

Required Qualifications: Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biomedical or Chemical Engineering and other closely-related areas.
