FACULTY POSITION OPENING
The School of Chemical, Biological and Materials Engineering (CBME) in the Gallogly College of Engineering (GCoE) at the University of Oklahoma (OU) are looking to fill a faculty position in the areas of biopharmaceutical production or discovery, with preference given to the former. We expect to fill the position with an Assistant Professor, but exceptional candidates at other levels will be considered. The position aligns with the GCoE’s strategic priorities of increasing research productivity in the strategic growth area of Bioengineering and the University’s strategic growth area of the Future of Health.
The successful candidate is expected to develop and maintain a sponsored research program related to manufacture of biopharmaceuticals and/or discovery and development of biopharmaceuticals. Potential research areas include:
- Bioprocess development including scale up & down including cell culture, separations, bioprocess engineering.
- Bioprocess modelling and process analytical technologies
- Automated and/or high throughput bioprocess development
- Antibody engineering and expression in high-cell density cultivations
For biopharmaceutical systems including but not limited to
- Genetically modified cellular therapeutics
- Antibody therapies
- Small molecule drug/engineered protein conjugates
- CRISPR-Cas9 therapeutics
- Checkpoint inhibitors
- Engineered hybrid proteins
- RNA/DNA vaccines
Individuals with demonstrated expertise in other innovative areas related to the production or discovery of therapeutic proteins and or advanced therapies will receive consideration. The successful candidate will be able to teach at both the graduate and undergraduate level. An earned Ph.D. is required with at least one degree in chemical engineering or another closely related discipline.
