GGC invites applicants for an Assistant Professor faculty position starting August 1, 2022 in Chemistry & Biochemistry with expertise in the area of Fermentation Science or related field. Successful candidates will be expected to contribute to the development and implementation of a proposed Fermentation Science track within the Chemistry major program that meets the needs of regional biochemical industries. Teaching of introductory and upper-level chemistry courses and laboratories is required. Successful candidates will have a strong commitment to undergraduate education, student engagement and research, as well as service to the college and community. GGC is an institution that values innovative teaching, advising and mentoring (advising and mentoring is expected of all faculty). The Chemistry discipline is interested in candidates who have experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and a demonstrated commitment to improving access to higher education for all students regardless of background. The candidate will be expected to perform additional duties, as assigned.
