Job Summary

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Texas at Arlington seeks applications to fill a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level beginning Fall 2022. Candidates must have a PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry or a closely related area and post-doctoral experience. We seek outstanding candidates with expertise in organic chemistry or analytical chemistry, preferably with research focus and interests in using bioorganic or bioanalytical chemistry approaches to address problems related to health and the human conditions. While the opening is at the assistant professor level, more experienced senior candidates with exceptional track records will also be considered. Successful candidates are expected to demonstrate a commitment to diversity and equity in education through their scholarship, teaching, and/or service as well as a strong commitment to teaching, advising, and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students from diverse backgrounds.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Tenure-track faculty are expected to initiate and maintain a well-funded research program and teach graduate and undergraduate organic or analytical chemistry. 

Required qualifications

PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a closely related area. Post-doctoral experience.
