Job Description We have a post-doctoral position available in the Materials and Chemical Science and Technology Directorate to support our expanding work in understanding fundamental mechanisms involved in photoinduced electron transfer at nanoscale semiconductor interfaces for solar energy harvesting.
The successful candidate should have
- Expertise in ultra-fast spectroscopy, semiconductor physics, and energy science and technology.
- Experience with electrochemistry and spectro-electrochemistry is also desirable.
The post-doctoral researcher will be engaged in collaborative group efforts exploring fundamental mechanisms for interfacial electron transfer and solar energy conversion. Particular materials of focus include semiconducting single-walled carbon nanotubes, monolayer semiconductors such as transition metal dichalcogenides, low-dimensional organic/inorganic perovskite semiconductors, small molecules, and interfaces formed between the systems listed above.
Scientific publications will be a primary goal of the research. Qualified candidates should demonstrate skills in the practice of research (particularly, spectroscopic characterization of materials and excited state dynamics) via a strong publication record. Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills are essential for success in this role.
Must be a recent PhD graduate within the last 3 years.
