The Chemistry Department at the University of Rhode Island invites applications for a full-time, tenure track appointment for an Assistant Professor of Chemical Education beginning in the fall of 2022. This position is part of a cohort of three Assistant Professor hires across campus with expertise in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL).
Duties and Responsibilities:
Teach chemistry courses at both the undergraduate and graduate level; advise students at both the undergraduate and graduate level; conduct research in collaboration with both undergraduate and graduate students; serve on departmental and university level committees; develop scholarship of evidence-based, high-impact practices in SoTL aimed at improving and assessing pedagogy in the introductory and core STEM curriculum; participate in the organization and maintenance of a campus-wide SoTL community, including: a seminar series, a SoTL Institute, the development and assessment of innovative pedagogical initiatives on student learning and success.
