#1 Lecturer of Chemistry & Director of General Chemistry Laboratories

The Department of Chemistry at William & Mary, a public university of the Commonwealth of Virginia, invites applications for a three year non-tenure track lecturer instructional position that will begin August 10, 2022. We seek an individual with expertise in leading and teaching general chemistry laboratory courses, as well as enthusiasm for teaching general chemistry and general education lecture courses for the Department of Chemistry.  The successful applicant will be expected to be an effective teacher and will have a [3-3] teaching load.

Required Qualifications

- A Ph.D. in Chemistry is required at the time the appointment begins (August 10, 2022).

 

- Prior experience teaching college-level introductory chemistry laboratory.

 

Preferred Qualifications

- Prior experience in managing and training teaching assistants.

 

- Previous development of laboratory modules that span the breadth of general chemistry.

 

#2 Visiting Assistant Professor Chemistry

The Department of Chemistry at William & Mary, a public university of the Commonwealth of Virginia, invites applications for a one-year, non-tenure-track Visiting Assistant Professor position that will begin August 10, 2022. We seek an effective teacher with expertise in general chemistry instruction.  The successful applicant will have a 3-3 teaching load primarily contributing to our general chemistry curricula. Required: Candidates must possess a Ph.D. in chemistry at the time the appointment begins (August 10, 2022).

Preferred: Prior chemistry teaching experience is preferred.
