Adjunct Instructor of Engineering Technology, Academic Year 2022-2023 (POOL POSTING)

This is a POOL posting to fill anticipated vacancies that may arise during the AY22-23 Academic Year. The Lancaster Campus is seeking applications for individuals to serve as adjunct (part-time) faculty in various capacities as the need arises for the 2022-2023 academic year.
 

Ohio University Lancaster is seeking part-time instructors to teach ENGT 1190: Manufacturing Materials and Processes; ENGT 2850: Lean Enterprise; ENGT 2870: Safety Management and ENGT 2870: Safety Management.

Due to the nature of the program, courses will be taught in-person and not online.

Must be proficient with Computer Numerical Control (CNC) operations/programing, Computer-Aided Machining (CAM), Computer-Aided Design (CAD), geometric construction, orthographic projection, dimensioning, AutoCAD and SolidEdge software.

Basic machine components used to build industrial machinery. Experience with gears and gear boxes, drivers, clutches, brakes, chains, couplings, and others.

Familiar with metal and plastic materials, processes and basic competencies appropriate for a manufacturing technician.

Familiar with Statistical Process Control, Quality control charts, Continuous improvement, 5S, Lean, Six Sigma, Material processing (metal machining, plastics processing).

Minimum Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree with experience in a manufacturing setting (presently automotive/sheet metal welding experience a plus) using quality control/lean six-sigma and management/planning tools. In lieu of a degree, individuals with at least 10 years of experience in a manufacturing setting with these tools will also be considered.
 

Self-starter with ability to work in a team environment with limited direction. Previous experience training and coaching teammates in manufacturing. Proficient in MS Office products. Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree is preferred.  Experience in teaching.
