SENIOR RESEARCH ASSOCIATE - CRYSTALLOGRAPHER

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Texas Tech University seeks applications for a Senior Research Associate with experience in both single crystal and powder X-ray diffraction techniques to run our departmental X-ray characterization facility. A Ph.D. degree and expertise in X-ray crystallography is required. Postdoctoral experience in chemistry or materials science is preferred. Responsibilities for the position include: 1) overseeing the day-to-day operation of the facility, including, student training, scheduling, data management, and billing, 2) performing crystallographic analysis, including structure determination, 3) conducting powder diffraction experiments, 4) managing the maintenance and repair of the single crystal/powder diffraction equipment, and 5) providing expertise for groups writing research manuscripts, as well as instrumentation and research grants. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to report results in a timely manner are required.
