The University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture and the Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences at the University of Arkansas invite applications for a 12-month, Assistant Professor, tenure-track position (80% research, 20% teaching) in the area of Fate and Transport of Agrochemicals & Contaminants.
A Ph.D. in chemistry, physics, hydrogeology, environmental science, toxicology, soil and water science, weed science, or a closely related discipline with analytical skills on the impact of chemical and emerging contaminants, especially pesticides, on water and soil quality is required. The candidate must have expertise with appropriate instrumentation. Field research experience in herbicide/plant interactions and environmental fate of pesticides is desired. Development of educational programs and presentation in outreach and classroom activities is expected. Candidates should possess excellent written and oral communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work effectively with interdisciplinary team of researchers and clientele groups. The successful candidate should demonstrate the ability to obtain extramural funding.
