About Us:
Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL) is a multi-program laboratory applying state of the art science and practical, high-value, cost-effective solutions to complex technical problems to protect the nation. Located at the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Savannah River Site (SRS), the laboratory develops and deploys innovative technologies to address some of the nation’s environmental, energy, and national security challenges.
Successful candidates would be responsible for supporting the development of programs in the fields of electrolytes for electrochemical energy storage, photovoltaics, and/or hydrogen production.
Key Responsibilities:
Work synergistically with SRNL energy principal investigators to develop advanced energy concepts to support our nation’s energy security and develop technologies which drastically reduce our nation’s impact on climate change.
• Proposal and grant writing for Department of Energy funding offices and other funding agencies
• Publication of high impact peer-reviewed manuscripts
• Research and development activities related to energy storage and conversion technologies
Basic Education Qualifications :
Bachelor degree in applicable science or engineering discipline plus 10 years of experience working in an applicable field in lieu of preferred education.
Other Required Qualifications : Proof of complete COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption authorization will be required for employment at SRNL. Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance. Preferred
Qualifications : PhD in Chemistry/Physics or relevant engineering discipline. A minimum of 5 years of experience working in the field of electrolytes for batteries, hydrogen production, photovoltaics, or hydrogen fuel cells.
Demonstrated experience managing projects funded through a competitive, peer-reviewed process.
Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain security clearance - level L or Q
