What You Will Do

As the Materials Engineer - Plastics, you will work with industry & universities to develop new technologies and standards and act as technical leader to others within the company. In addition, you will provide technical direction to co-workers in area of expertise and ensures co-workers have technical information to make projects successful.

What You Will Do

  • Identifies projects of value to the company. Directs use of specific CAE software such as Solidworks, MATLAB, LabView, Minitab, EES, CFD, FEA, etc. and interprets results Effectively communicates technical material to internal business units. Regular collaboration with product design and manufacturing, may lead functional best practice meetings, and has a recognized reputation of contribution to operations. Solid understanding of AOS processes and customers, participates in functional best practices, and has recognized expertise by operations. Have significant technical accomplishments for the Company. Able to balance & prioritize multiple projects within schedule and budget.  Helps coordinate projects with outside funding. Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Will Bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering.  Master’s degree or PhD Preferred. Advanced problem-solving skills. Minimum 3 years’ experience or recent Master’s graduate with internship experience. Effective written & verbal communication.  Keeps abreast of competitor and new product activity. Some reputation of expertise and accomplishment Demonstrated work within the industry and universities to develop new technologies and standards Experience collaborating on patents, trade secrets, or papers Good problem-solving skills and the ability to identify projects of value to the company Competent user of discipline specific CAE software such as Solidworks, MATLAB, LabView, Minitab, EES, CFD, FEA, etc. Ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbal, including technical material Ability to balance and prioritize multiple projects within a schedule and budget
