LECTURER POSITION - CHEMISTRY
STONY BROOK UNIVERSITY invites applications for a one year, renewable, non-tenure track lecturer position in the Department of Chemistry. Stony Brook is a research university with a strong commitment to curricular innovation. The position includes opportunities for curriculum development and for training and supervision of teaching assistants in the Department's undergraduate chemistry courses. Initial assignments will likely be in our general chemistry or advanced chemistry laboratory courses, but may include duties in undergraduate lecture courses. A Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Education or related field are required. Previous experience administering large lab or lecture courses would be a plus. Qualifications
Required: A Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Education or related field are required.
Preferred:
Previous experience administering large lab or lecture courses would be a plus.

3. Demonstrated experience in utilization of the computer as a teaching tool.
4. Relevance of teaching interests to Department needs.
5. Strength of letters of reference, especially with regards to teaching ability and experience.

In accordance with the New York State Department of Health (DOH) regulation that all hospitals and nursing homes “continuously require all personnel to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19,” Candidates who are not already vaccinated must obtain the first dose of the vaccine within three (3) calendar days of acceptance of conditional job offer and must obtain any subsequent doses in accordance with the vaccine protocol.
