Job Details

The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) in Amarillo, TX seeks applicants for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor level to join an active group of extramurally funded researchers with interests in pharmaceutical sciences, cancer biology, brain/vascular biology, and drug development. 

The specific areas of research interest for this position are neurosciences, pharmacology, or biochemistry with the emphasis on potentially developing therapeutic agents for the treatment of stroke, neurodegenerative disease, pain, or brain cancer. 

The department currently has 23 full-time faculty members. The Amarillo campus includes the TTUHSC School of Pharmacy and School of Medicine, and TTU School of Veterinary Medicine, providing a vibrant and collaborative environment for biomedical research. As part of the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences (TTUHSC), our department provides training for 36 graduate students.

In addition to establishing and/or maintaining an extramurally funded research program, the successful candidate will teach in the basic science components of the Pharm.D and Ph.D. curriculum, and mentor graduate students. Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Pharmacy was established in 1993 to offer the degree of Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D). The School began accepting applications and enrolled its first class of 63 students in the fall of 1996. Each fall since 1996, the School has enrolled a new class. The founding class graduated in May, 2000.
