The Department of Chemistry at Fordham University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position. Candidates with a Ph.D. and post-doctoral research experience in Biochemistry (broadly defined) / Bioinorganic / Bioananalytical/ Toxicology or a Biotechnology related field are encouraged to apply for the position starting in Fall 2023. The successful applicant is expected to develop a strong, externally funded original research program that involves mentoring undergraduates and publishing in peer-reviewed journals. Teaching responsibilities may include laboratory / lecture courses such as General, Inorganic, and/or Biophysical chemistry or related topics. Candidates should submit a CV; unofficial transcripts; description of proposed research, statement of teaching philosophy; a statement of diversity and inclusion; and a minimum of three references to  Fordham is an independent, Catholic University in the Jesuit tradition, committed to excellence through diversity. The Fordham University Department of Chemistry is a well-equipped, ACS-accredited, undergraduate department with eleven full-time faculty, two laboratory technicians, and shared services of a machine shop and skilled machinist. Instrumentation includes a 300 MHz Bruker NMR, High-resolution sector mass spectrometer, CAD4 X-ray diffractometer, laser-Raman and FTIR. The beautiful Fordham Rose Hill campus is located in the heart of Bronx, NY, adjacent to the Bronx Zoo and the New York Botanical Gardens.
