Synthetic Chemist

Required skills: 

• B.S. or M.S. in Chemistry or Material Science, entry to mid-level experience
• Experience in synthesis and purification of materials
• Handling air- and moisture-sensitive chemicals
• Using Schlenk line and performing procedures under inert conditions
• Experience with FTIR and NMR spectroscopy is required
• Experience with chromatography is preferred
• Experience with Microsoft Office and chemistry drawing software(s)
• Excellent communication and writing skills
• Work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment
• Self-motivated with a willingness to learn about and understand new technologies, techniques and procedures
• Excellent organization skills, flexibility, efficiency and ability to multi-task

Duties: 

• Synthesize, purify, analyze, and test the performance of materials following established protocols
• Perform experiments using established procedures while summarizing and reporting results in a laboratory notebook and in periodic meetings
• Maintain records of inventory and contribute to establishing and implementing standard operating procedures
• Contribute ideas towards investigation and discovery of novel materials
• Product development and customer support
• Maintaining the highest professional standards in the work environment and in safety
