The Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the NYU Tandon School of Engineering invites applications for a full time, non-tenured, renewable faculty position in Chemistry at the level of Industry Assistant Professor with a start date of January 2, 2023.

An Industry Professor's primary roles are teaching, mentoring, and educational innovation and the position may also entail some administrative work and outreach. We invite applicants for an Industry Professor position whose main duties will include coordinating and teaching organic chemistry laboratory courses. The successful candidate may also be expected to teach introductory chemistry courses or labs, depending on departmental needs. The typical teaching load is 4-5 lab sections per semester or three lab sections and one lecture course per academic semester in addition to the lab coordination duties.

 

Qualifications

We invite applicants for classroom and laboratory teaching with particular emphasis on Organic Chemistry. You should be an excellent teacher. You should have a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry or a closely related discipline. Previous experience in classroom or laboratory teaching at the undergraduate level is preferred but not required. Candidates who have recently completed a Ph.D. or postdoc and have a strong interest in teaching are encouraged to apply.
