Tenure-Track Faculty Positions in Biological and Inorganic Chemistry

The Department of Chemistry at the University of Utah invites applicants for faculty positions in the broadly defined areas of Biological and Inorganic Chemistry.

Successful candidates will be expected to develop a vigorous, internationally visible, and well-funded research program, and exemplify effective teaching and mentorship to both undergraduate and graduate students.  In addition, our Department values candidates who have experience working with students from diverse and historically excluded backgrounds and possess a strong commitment to improving access to higher education.

Application materials should be uploaded in PDF format at:  https://utah.peopleadmin.com/postings/137206.  A Ph.D. is required and postdoctoral experience is highly desirable.  Applicants interested in applying at the level of Assistant Professor should upload an application letter with vita, a statement of research interests, a statement of teaching interests, a statement discussing contributions and commitment to enhance equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI), and arrange for three letters of recommendation to be sent on their behalf.  In addition, applicants will be required to upload an anonymized statement of research interests that provides research direction, goals and expected outcomes while avoiding any information that can be used to glean the identity of the candidate.  Those interested in the levels of Associate or Full Professor should upload an application letter, vita, and teaching and EDI statements; letters of reference for the associate/full appointments will be requested after the interview.

Initial review of applications will begin on September 30th, 2022 and continue until the positions are filled.
