Job Details

Job Responsibilities:
•    Interface directly with customers to support new product development efforts (identify customer needs, collaborate with charter customers on iterative process of product design, support scale up, support product introduction and adoption at new customers)
•    Collaborate with Arkema colleagues in synthesis, process technology, patent attorneys, and regulatory group to design new products and lead projects through different stages of product development

•    Design and execute laboratory experiments to evaluate physical, chemical and material properties of developmental products
•    Makes technical presentations and communicates effectively with a large range of individuals with different technical backgrounds and education levels
•    Actively promotes safe behavior in the workgroup and takes responsibility for personal safe lab operations
•    Researches technical literature and patents to identify new trends and opportunities 
•    Contributes to patent applications and presents at technical conferences

•    PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or other  relevant technical field
•    Excellent verbal communication skills with emphasis on being able to explain complex technical problems in an easy to understand way especially to an audience with a varied technical background
•    Uses scientific principles to solve problems
•    Works collaboratively to solve problems, and leverages help and expertise from others
•    Familiarity with polymer processing, polymer testing (rheology, mechanical testing etc.) or coatings testing is desirable

•  Up to 15% travel may be required on occasion
