The Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering (http://cbe.nd.edu) at the
University of Notre Dame invites applications for an established and tenured senior faculty
position from individuals with research interests at the forefront of chemical and biomolecular
engineering in areas including but not limited to energy & sustainability, materials science, and
human health. The University has many outstanding instrumentation facilities and Institutes
that facilitate development of world-class interdisciplinary research groups. Specifically, the
department has pillar areas in biomolecular engineering, diagnostics and therapeutics, soft
matter engineering, and chemical and energy conversion. Accordingly, this position affords the
opportunity to lead new directions and initiatives within the Department of Chemical and
Biomolecular Engineering and the greater University community.
Candidates are welcome to apply in confidence and should submit a cover letter and
curriculum vitae to the application website (https://apply.interfolio.com/110836). Applications
will be considered on a rolling basis upon receipt but must be received by January 1, 2023 to
receive full consideration. The primary focus of this search is on appointments at the
established senior level; candidates seeking positions at the Assistant or Associate Professor
level are encouraged to apply to a parallel Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering search for a
tenured or tenure track appointment.
The department seeks to attract, develop, and retain the highest quality faculty, staff and
administration. We are especially interested in candidates who will contribute to the diversity
and excellence of the University’s academic community through their research, teaching, and
service. The University is an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action employer; we strongly
encourage applications from women, minorities, veterans, individuals with a disability and
those candidates attracted to a university with a Catholic identity.
