Job Details
The Trinity College Chemistry Department, which is committed to ensuring the success of the diverse and talented students in our classrooms and laboratories, invites applications for a tenure-track position in physical chemistry, to begin in August 2023. We seek a candidate who has a Ph.D. in chemistry or an allied field who can teach a variety of courses including Introductory Chemistry I and II, Physical Chemistry I and II, and Physical Biochemistry. Other teaching duties will include non-majors science courses or first-year seminars. The successful candidate will also establish a productive research program that involves undergraduate students. The successful candidate will be eligible for one semester of leave every four years to pursue their research program, guaranteed annual funds toward conference travel, and access to tuition benefits.
Trinity College is located in the city of Hartford, the capital city of Connecticut. The College is set in an urban environment and is in close proximity to a number of biomedical research institutions, including Hartford Hospital, the University of Connecticut Medical Center and the Jackson Laboratories. The Trinity Chemistry Department offers majors in Chemistry and Biochemistry, with two tracks in Biochemistry (Traditional and Neurobiochemistry). The department also possesses excellent, modern, research instruments available for use by students and faculty.
