Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) is a multidisciplinary research institution engaged in science and engineering on behalf of national security. We are currently seeking highly motivated, productive and multi-talented Synthetic Organic/Bio-organic Chemist to work with our Bioscience Division to apply synthetic organic chemistry to bioorganic and biophysical national security problems at LANL in Los Alamos, NM. In this role, duties include:
- Researching and developing multidisciplinary projects involving biosecurity, bioenergy, biophysical chemistry and structural biology Developing and implementing new mission-relevant programs Testing and validating methods and communicating results through formal presentations and peer-reviewed publications Collaborating with scientists in other departments to complete projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM field from an accredited college or university 4+ years of related experience, such as post-doctoral research experience at a university or national lab, or equivalent experience directly related to the occupation Experience in the supervision and mentoring of technical personnel Experience writing proposals, collaborating with colleagues and working with customers Active Q-clearance or ability to obtain Q-clearance
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in synthetic organic, bio-organic and/or physical organic chemistry Knowledge of modern synthetic automated methods with an emphasis on flow-based chemistry techniques Experience with modern analytical methods, including NMR and MS Postdoctoral experience
