Applicants should have a Ph.D. in chemistry, biochemistry, or a closely related field. All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply, though we particularly encourage applications from candidates with experience teaching small undergraduate courses with inclusive pedagogies. The successful candidate will teach 18 contact hours during the academic year with primary teaching responsibilities in their field of expertise and general chemistry.

The successful candidate will be expected to develop an active undergraduate research program supported by resources including start-up funds, a research lab/office suite, student stipends for summer research, a modern instrumentation center, conference travel funds, a grants office, and a capstone research course.

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry employs eleven full-time faculty, dedicated general and organic chemistry lab managers, and several long-term adjunct faculty. The Department is committed to fostering a culture of collegiality, cooperation, and collaboration between Department members, support staff, and the students we serve. In keeping with college mission, we are dedicated to meeting our diverse students where they are and providing them pathways for success in STEM fields.

Priority will be given to completed applications received by October 14, 2022. Electronic submission of application materials through Interview Exchange is required. Your application should include: 1) a cover letter; 2) curriculum vitae; 3) a teaching statement that addresses your commitment to excellence in undergraduate instruction and to fostering a vibrant and inclusive classroom environment; 4) a description of your planned research with undergraduate students; 5) unofficial undergraduate and graduate transcripts, and 6) contact information for 3 professional references who will be contacted for reference letters upon submission of all other required application materials.
