POSITION DESCRIPTION

The School of Natural Sciences is seeking one new faculty member at the Assistant Professor (tenure-track) level in synthetic chemistry. Candidates in all areas of synthetic chemistry are encouraged to apply. We welcome applicants whose research interests lie in the chemical synthesis of organic, inorganic, organometallic molecules, macromolecules (including biomacromolecules), or materials and may support one or more of the five identified areas of emphasis within the School of Natural Sciences: materials, biomedical sciences, sustainability & the environment, computational & data science, and STEM education. We seek outstanding scholars who will establish and maintain creative research programs, lead an internationally renowned independent research program in an emerging area, teach effectively at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, and advise/mentor undergraduate and graduate students. Successful applicants will also contribute to the growth of a vibrant chemistry department in a young research university. Minimum Qualifications: In order to be considered, candidates must have a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry, Materials, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field by the position start date.

 

Anticipated start date is July 1, 2023.

Letters of reference should be received no later than November 15, 2022.

Salary is commensurate with education, experience, and UC academic salary scales.
