Candidates are sought for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position in the lab of Prof. Andrew Smith at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. This position specifically focuses on the design and synthesis of quantum dots for applications in multiplexed bioimaging and biosensing. Candidates should have peer-reviewed publications in inorganic nanomaterials as well as experience in the synthesis of colloidal semiconductors with core/shell structures and relevant materials and photophysical characterization. Candidates who demonstrate scientific curiosity, passion for research, and deep knowledge of the research literature will receive priority consideration. Eligible candidates must have obtained a Ph.D. degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, bioengineering, or a closely related discipline within 10 years of the start date of the position. The Postdoctoral Research Associate is a full-time, benefits-eligible position appointed on a 12-month service basis. The initial appointment is for 6 months with the possibility of extension based on performance and funding. The anticipated start date is as soon as possible. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
